Hangover remedies that actually work

We're strange creatures, we human! Each time our planet complete another circle around the sun, we put on sparkly clothes, drink too much & try to find some excitement and our copies companion.
New year, the time of celebration, partying hard with friends, drinking, dancing....!!! During this celebration, some people forget that they will suffer a headache, dizziness, upset stomach & hangover the morning next after the night they drunk hard. Alcohol is diuretic, so drinking excessively results in dehydration is what causes many of the symptoms of a hangover. Here are some remedies to cure your hangover symptoms.

Before drinking:

  • Don't drink in the empty stomach: Eat something greasy or food rich in carbohydrate like rice, pasta or fats to minimise the alcohol absorption level of your body.
  • Don't drink too much: Try to avoid more than 3-4 units alcohol per day. Drink sensibly.

During drinking:

  • Eat salad with your drinks: Salad is full of vitamins and minerals and will hydrate your body during consumption of alcohol which causes dehydration.
  • Know your proportion: Always mix alochol and water in the proportion of 1:3 ratio.
  • Don't drink dark coloured drinks:  Dark colored drinks contain natural chemicals which are sometimes  prove to be allergic to some people and may cause irritation of brain blood vessels, results in worse situation of hangover.
  • Drink water & soft drinks : Drink water and non-frizzy soft drinks in between of alochol drink to increase the absorption level of your system.
  • Don't eat snacks with your drink : Snacks will not be advised to take with your drinks as they are light and will start floating in your stomach and results will worse when they come out in the form of vomiting.

After drinking:

  • Drink water:  Drink plenty of water to re-hydrate your body as dehydration is caused by alcohol and it is very important to drink sufficient water to flush out toxins from your body. So drink plenty of water the next morning you wake up and re-hydrate your body.
  • Drink sports drink: Drinking sports drink is effective way to replace unwanted fluids from your stomach and gives you energy as needed by your body.
  • Drink fruit juice: Fruit juices are full of vitamins, minerals to boost your body energy level. You can drink Coconut water, orange juice, tomato juice.
  • Drink Ginger tea: Drinking ginger tea can help you to suppress vomiting, and nausea problem and it will also relax your body and gives you nice soothing effect.
  • Soup: You can have light soup to soothe your stomach and easy for your stomach to digest.
  • Curd to cure headache: Eat foods like curd, full of calcium to get relief of headche due to hangover.
  • Drink coffee: Black Coffee is the best option to get rid of hangover because coffee contains caffein which ease your headche.
  • Lemon juice: You can recover your body dehydration with lemon juice by mixing lemon, sugar, salt in water to get the benefits of vitamin c & carbohydates.

Things to remember before drinking:

  • Follow the Alcohol laws of your country/state of residence.
  • Don't drink too much.
  • Men should not drink more than 3-4 units of alcohol per day.
  • Women should not drink more than 1-2 units of alcohol per day.
  • Drink after the gap of 48hours of that day when you drunk more than your body limit to cope with.
